Graceland 50th Anniversary

DBL SIGNED & SKECHED Graceland 50th Anniversary 25½x34 G/P Kinkade Elvis Presley

Available Now From Karen’s Kinkade Art Store!

Graceland is by far one of the most iconic homes in all of America. Elvis Presley bought the estate in 1957, and lived in it all the way until his death in 1977. It is now home to a museum that is visited by thousands of people every year paying homage to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. In his painting “Graceland 50th Anniversary,” Thomas Kinkade also pays homage to Graceland and it’s legacy by bringing it to life in a way no other could. A classic car sit in the drive-way, the trees are just changing colors, and a young Elvis and Priscilla Presley walk out of the front door holding hands. Read what Kinkade said about the painting when it was released:

“Fifty years ago, the King of Rock n Roll bought the palace that became, for him, a sanctuary from the demands of a very public life, and for devotees of American pop culture, a Mecca that grows only more famous with the passage of time. Graceland is one of the most visited homes in America, where legions of fans come to embrace the memories and the music of the undying rock legend, Elvis Presley.I grew up with Elvis great songs and movies; my older sister was a huge fan who played his records until she wore them out. Ive grown to appreciate the energy and high spirits the King contributed to what has become classic American culture. So, naturally, I was delighted when I got the opportunity to paint the official 50th Anniversary portrait of Graceland .

I set up my easel at Graceland on a crisp autumn morning when the stately home was particularly cozy and welcoming. I was inspired to paint it with smoke curling from the chimney and a golden light blazing in every window. I finished my sketchy plein-air study in just a few hours, and then took Graceland, 50th Anniversary to my studio where I created an image that includes such finishing touches as a likeness of the King and one of his famous cars. The finished canvas is being offered as a Limited Edition release to honor the 50th Anniversary of Graceland a home like no other.”

Now Available From Karen’s Kinkade Art Store!

Everyone has something that they think of when they think of the winter holidays. It may be a particular food that you’re fond of, or a holiday ritual that you perform with loved ones, such as cutting down a Christmas tree. For me, Christmas makes me think of my grandpa, sitting around his grand piano and playing Christmas carols with all his children and grandchildren. Holidays create special memories that have a glow like no others. In 1991, Thomas Kinkade captured the spirit of holiday memories in his painting Home for the Holidays. A warm, inviting house sits lit up and ready for visitors in the middle of a true winter wonderland, promising to be full of cheer, laughs and loved ones. Who doesn’t love the idea of a peaceful, quiet retreat in the mountains? If I were to think of all my favorite places on earth, most of them would be near a mountain. There’s something about mountains that are re-assuring. They’re strong, safe, quiet and beautiful. Thomas Kinkade captures all of that in his 2005 painting, Mountain Retreat. A quiet, cozy mountain cabin sits near a beautiful babbling brook in a valley of soft grass and trees made brilliant by autumn colors. In the background, strong, snow-capped mountains and a brilliant sunset look down on the tiny, peaceful cabin and bless the vacationers resting there with the most splendid views Earth has to offer.
